Sainath Gift & General Stores

We are at shop number 1 in the K P Shopping Centre. It’s right near Jivanbharti School. This part of Vadodara, near the Makarpura Industrial Estate and Karelibaug, is always busy with workers and students moving around. We are a gift shop but also a general store. This means we have things people need for their homes as well as gifts for special times. We find it works better that way. People come in for a pen or some basic soap and end up looking at the gift shelves while they wait. It’s a practical way to run a shop. We’ve been here since the shopping center was relatively new. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet to move everything. We’re too busy keeping the inventory moving and helping customers. It’s a family-run thing. You’ll usually see one of us sitting by the door greeting people. We don't use any high-tech systems or computers. We know where everything is just by memory and looking at the labels. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific item tucked in the back, but we usually get there eventually. The noise from the industrial estate is just part of the background now. We don't even notice the trucks or the machinery anymore. It’s a solid, honest business. We provide what the neighborhood needs. No bells or whistles, just a regular shop doing its thing every day for the community.
