Sai Mobile Centre

Station Road is always a mess with people and rickshaws, especially near Crawford Market. That is where you will find us at Sai Mobile Centre. The shop isn't very big, so it gets crowded quickly if more than three people walk in at once. We spend most of the day looking through magnifying glasses at tiny circuit boards or trying to peel off old screen protectors without scratching the glass. It’s a lot of sitting under bright lights. We have cases hanging all over the walls, every color you can think of, though most people just want plain black ones. People come in worried about their broken screens or phones that won't charge, and we just tell them what we can do. Sometimes the parts take a day to arrive from the warehouse, so there’s a lot of waiting around. We drink a lot of coffee from the guy who walks around with a kettle. The noise from Crawford Market never really stops until late at night. We keep the doors open so people can just poke their heads in and ask questions. It’s a fast-paced way to work, but being on Station Road means we are never bored. We just do the repairs and sell the accessories as they come. It is just a regular shop doing regular phone work. We've been here for a while and we just keep the shop running as best we can for the locals.
