About Saema Cutpiece – Fashion & Trends in Vadodara
Our shop, Saema Cutpiece, is in Sector-19D over in Wadi. We are at SB 6, right beside the City Police Station. It’s actually a good landmark because everyone knows where the station is. We handle a lot of cut pieces, hence the name. The shop is small and packed with different fabrics. We don't have a lot of floor space, so you have to watch your step. It’s just a few of us working here. We spend the day sorting through leftovers and smaller lots of cloth. It’s a bit of a niche, but it keeps us busy. Being next to the police station means it’s a relatively quiet and safe corner of Wadi. We see the officers coming and going all day. Sometimes people stop in because they saw our sign while they were at the station. We don’t do any big advertising. Word of mouth is usually enough for us. The building is simple and we keep things pretty basic inside. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of good fans that do the job. It’s an honest way to make a living. We enjoy the work and the people we meet. It’s a small operation, but we like it that way. Most days we are just busy cutting and folding until it’s time to lock up. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us out of trouble and pays the bills regularly. We just take things as they come.
