Saaz Cell

Saaz Cell is located over by Gandhi Nagar Gruh near Jubilee Baug in Vadodara. It’s a nice part of town with a lot of history and people walking around in the evenings. Our shop isn't very large, just a single room filled with mobile parts and a few display cases. We spend a lot of time sitting behind the glass counter waiting for the next person to come in with a broken screen or a battery that won't charge. The view out the front window is mostly of the street traffic and people heading towards the gardens. We have some old posters on the wall that have been there since we opened. They’re a bit faded now from the sun hitting them every afternoon. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything like that. People just seem to find us by word of mouth or because they were walking past the Baug and saw our sign. Sometimes it gets really crowded in here if three or four people come in at once, and we have to ask them to wait outside on the pavement for a minute. It’s a modest way to make a living, but we enjoy being part of the neighborhood. We keep the shop clean but it definitely has that lived-in feel. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot doing the same work every day. It is a simple life for us here.
