Revival Lord Inn is out here in Raghunathpur village, near the Kotwa post office in Rewa district. It is a bit far from the main city, so things are much slower and quieter around here. I manage the daily things at the inn, which basically means making sure the rooms are ready and the kitchen has enough supplies. We are in a rural part of Madhya Pradesh, so we don't get the big city crowds, just people passing through or visiting for local reasons. The building is simple and reflects the village surroundings. Sometimes the water pressure isn't great, or we have to wait a while for deliveries to reach us from the main town. I spend a lot of my time sitting out front or checking the ledgers in the small office. It’s not like those big hotels you see in magazines; it’s more like a guest house where you get a room and a meal without any extra fluff. We grow some of our own vegetables in the back, and the air is much fresher than in the crowded markets. It gets quite cold here in the winters, and we have to make sure there are enough blankets for everyone who stays. It is a modest life running a place like this in the village, but it keeps us busy and connected to the land. Most of our guests are regulars who know exactly what to expect when they visit.
