Receptionist

This place is tucked away in Narmada Park Society. We are at C/24, right on the Gorwa Refinery Road in Baroda. It’s a quiet enough spot if you ignore the trucks going toward the refinery. Being in Panchvati means we see a lot of the same faces every morning. I sit at the front desk mostly. It’s why the name is what it is. It isn't some big corporate headquarters with a lobby that smells like perfume. It’s a real office in a real neighborhood. We have some chairs that have seen better days and a fan that clicks when it’s on high. Sometimes the mailman gets confused because of the society layout, so we spend a bit of time walking out to the gate to wave people down. Life here moves at its own pace. We handle the paperwork and take the calls that come through. It’s a lot of Gujarat sun coming through the windows in the afternoon. We usually have tea around four. It’s just a basic setup for doing business. No one here is trying to be anything they aren't. We just work the shifts and go home. If you come by, you’ll see the sign for Narmada Park and just follow the road down. We’re usually there unless it’s a public holiday or something. It’s a decent place to spend the day and we keep it running as best we can.
