R R Shah

The office is over here in Jagannath Complex, which is a busy spot on Pratapnagar Road. We are on the second floor, unit Sf C 4. R R Shah has been in this spot for a while now. If you know where Gita Mandir is, you can find us pretty easily because we are right near there. It’s one of those buildings where you hear the traffic all day long but you get used to it. Most days start with opening up the shutters and letting some air in, though the dust from the road comes in too. Vadodara is a fast place now but this area still feels like the old city in some ways. We have been here for a good amount of time, sitting at these same desks and dealing with whatever paperwork comes through the door. It isn't a fancy setup. The chairs are a bit old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for what we do. People stop by when they need something handled, and we just get to it. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit in the afternoon and we just sit and wait or go grab a tea downstairs. There is a small tea stall nearby that makes it just right. It's just a regular place where work happens. Nothing too complicated or special about it. We just show up every morning and stay until the sun goes down. It's our corner and we know the neighbors well enough to say hello.
