Nirala Gift Shop

Nirala Gift Shop is sitting in 1 Prime Complex. We’re right opposite Shreyas School on the Pernatirth Jain Derasar Road in Manjaipur. It’s a nice area, usually pretty quiet except when school lets out. Then the whole street is full of kids and parents. We get a lot of students coming in to look at things after their classes are done. The shop is tucked away on the ground floor. It’s not the biggest place, and the lighting is a little dim in the back corner where we keep the larger items. I’ve been thinking about getting brighter bulbs, but these ones still work for now. Most days I’m just here by myself, listening to the radio and greeting the people who walk in. It’s a local crowd mostly. The temple nearby brings in people on the weekends, so we stay pretty busy then. I usually have to sweep the front three or four times a day because of the dust from the road. The shelves are a bit mismatched because we bought them at different times, but they hold everything up just fine. We don’t really have a philosophy or anything like that. We just have things for sale and hope people like them. It’s a simple way to make a living, and I like being in this part of Manjaipur. It feels like home to me after all these years.
