New Baroda City Bakery

Running New Baroda City Bakery keeps us on our toes from very early in the morning. We are located at A N Campwala Estate on Yamuna Mill Road. It’s right near the Gas Holder Station in Pratap Nagar, which is a landmark most locals use to find us. The ovens get turned on before the sun is even up. It gets pretty hot in the back, especially during the summer months. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit, but it works for what we do. People come by for their daily bread or a quick snack on their way to work. It’s a messy job with flour getting everywhere, but that’s just part of the trade. We don’t use any high-tech machines, just the old ways that we learned years ago. The smell of baking usually fills the street outside by 7 AM. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than expected if the morning rush is heavy. My family has been involved in this for years. We aren't looking to become some huge chain; we just like serving the people in Pratap Nagar. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and lifting heavy bags of grain. We take pride in the crust on our loaves and the way the kitchen feels when everything is moving fast. We've had to fix the front door twice this year because it keeps sticking. It's just us doing what we know.
