My Choice

My Choice is located in the Madhuram building, right across from Lalbaug Society in the LIC Colony area of Manjaipur. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you know the neighborhood. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the street change quite a bit over the years. The shop itself is cozy, maybe even a little cramped if we get a big delivery of new stock. We sell a mix of things that we think people around here might actually use. There’s no big philosophy behind it; we just pick items that seem good. Sometimes the front door squeaks when it opens, but we never seem to get around to oiling it. We spend most of our time chatting with the neighbors who stop by more for a talk than to actually buy anything. It feels like a community hub sometimes. The lighting is a bit yellow, which gives the place a warm feel in the evenings. We handle everything ourselves, from sweeping the floor in the morning to locking the shutters at night. Manjaipur is a nice place to have a business because people are generally friendly and patient. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want to see what we have, they just walk in. It's a straightforward way to run a shop and it suits us just fine. We just take things as they come.
