Mobile Choice

Mobile Choice is tucked away inside the Damji Shamji Industrial Estate on Mahakali Caves Road. Being at S B 4 means we are surrounded by a lot of other businesses and workshops. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren’t used to the layout of Lalbaug Road. We started this shop because we saw how many people working in the estate needed a quick place to fix their screens or buy a charger during their lunch break. The walls are a bit plain and we use old wooden chairs for people to sit while they wait. It’s not the kind of place with bright lights and music. It’s more of a workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the heavy machinery next door starts up, but we just keep working. We see a lot of delivery drivers and office staff coming through the door every day. We try to keep things simple here. If a phone can be fixed, we tell you, and if it's too far gone, we say that too. Most of our day is spent at the back bench with small screwdrivers and magnifying glasses. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a small fan running in the corner. We’ve been at this spot for some time now and the neighbors in the industrial estate are like family to us. Just a regular shop in a busy area where we do our best with what we have.
