Missed Call

Missed Call is the name of our shop, and we are situated in Subhanpura on Dr B A Marg, right in Byculla 2. People often ask us about the name and usually get a little laugh out of it. We are right on the main road, so the traffic noise from Dr B A Marg is something we have just grown used to over time. The shop is located in an older building with high ceilings, which helps it stay a bit cooler when it is hot outside. We have a glass display case that has seen a lot of fingerprints over the years, and I am forever wiping it down with a rag. My neighbor from the tea stall next door usually brings over a cup in the afternoon, and we sit for a minute to talk about the weather or the local news. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly related to mobile phones and accessories. It is a busy area of Byculla, so there is always something happening right outside our door. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the front entrance during the monsoon, so we have to keep a bucket handy. It is just a normal part of running a business in this part of the city. We have a few chairs for people to sit on, but they are usually covered in newspapers or delivery boxes that haven't been opened yet.
