Metaplast Industries

Working out of Plot 1 in the GIDC Estate over in Waghodia means we are surrounded by factories and the sound of heavy machinery all day long. Metaplast Industries is right in the middle of all that industrial hum. The workshop floor is usually covered in bits of material and the smell of the machines running. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure the supplies are where they should be. It gets really hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, so we have a couple of big industrial fans that mostly just move the warm air around. The office part is just a partitioned area with a glass window so we can see what's happening on the floor. We have a lot of trucks coming and going, delivering raw materials or picking up finished batches, so the entrance is always a bit of a mess with tire tracks and dust. Most of us have been working here for years and we have a routine that keeps things from getting too chaotic. There is a small canteen nearby where we usually get our lunch, or we just sit on the crates and eat what we brought from home. The gates stay open from early morning until late evening because there is always something that needs to be moved or loaded. It’s hard work and it’s messy, but that is just how things go in Waghodia.
