We have been sitting here at Makarpura G 16 for a long time now. Most people know the area because of all the industry around, but our little spot, Mansi, is just where we show up every morning. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it because there is always something else to do. It’s funny how you get used to the sound of the trucks passing by at all hours. We open the shutters around nine, maybe a little later if the traffic on the main road is bad. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and the files we’ve piled up over the months. We don't have any fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, someone just yells hello from the back when the bell rings. It's a practical way to run things, I think. Most of our day is spent talking on the phone or checking the stock we have in the corner. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon for us. Makarpura is a busy place, very dusty too, but it feels like home after so many years. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just do the work, lock up in the evening, and head back. It’s a simple routine, but it works for everyone who works here.
