Manish Plastics

Manish Plastics is tucked away on Shiwaji Road, right near Channi Naka in the Shukrawar Peth area. If you know the neighborhood, you know it stays pretty active with all the local trade and people moving about. Our space is mostly taken up by various plastic goods and different items we keep in stock. It’s not a showroom or a fancy store. It’s more of a place where we keep things moving and get things loaded onto the trucks. We spend a lot of time counting inventory and making sure everything is in the right pile. The floor is made of old concrete and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the street because it gets very narrow with all the parked scooters, but we always manage. We’ve been at this address for a while and have seen the shops around us change owners many times over the years. Our routine is pretty much the same every day. We open up the shutters, check what needs to go out, and handle whoever walks in through the door with a question. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We don’t spend much on decorations or fancy lighting because it doesn't help the work. We just have the metal shelves we put up ourselves and some old desks for the accounts. Most people who come by are regulars from the local area who know the place.
