Manav Kendra Gyan Mandir School

Being located right on N H No 8 near Kandari means we see a lot of trucks and cars passing by all day. It’s a bit of a drive from the main part of Baroda, but Karjan is where we belong. The school sits near the highway, so there’s always a bit of a hum from the traffic. Most of the children come from the nearby villages and the smaller towns around the district. We’ve got a lot of open space here because we aren't squeezed into a city center. The wind blows across the fields and sometimes carries a bit of dust into the classrooms. We spend our mornings checking the registers and making sure the school buses arrived safely. It’s a straightforward kind of place. The teachers often talk about their long commutes from the city. We have a big gate and some trees that provide shade during the hot afternoons when the sun is really beating down on the plains. We don't have a lot of flashy equipment, but we have enough desks and books for everyone. Lunchtimes are usually loud with kids eating together in the shade. It’s a long day for everyone, especially for those who have to travel back to Baroda in the evening. We just keep things running as best as we can, day after day, out here by the highway.
