Our workshop is at Plot No. C1-139, near Jayant Oil Mill in the GIDC Industrial Estate. Having the oil mill nearby means there’s always a certain scent in the air, which you get used to after a week or two. We work with glass here, which is a delicate but heavy job. Most of our time is spent at the benches, cutting or shaping things to the right size. It's a lot of careful handwork and keeping an eye on the details. We’ve got some old machinery that still runs better than the new stuff we tried once. The floor is always covered in tiny bits of glass, so we have to be careful where we step. We aren't the type to wear suits or have big lunch meetings. Most of us just bring a tiffin from home and sit out front when the weather is nice. The office is just a corner of the main room with a desk and a telephone that rings more than we’d like. We don't have a slick website or anything like that. People usually find out about us by word of mouth or by just driving past and seeing the sign. We’ve made some mistakes over the years, but we always make it right with the customer. It’s a straightforward trade, and we’re happy just to keep the lights on and the orders moving. Working with glass takes patience, and we've got plenty of that, even on the long days.
