Harshad Fabricators

Harshad Fabricators is based at Plot No. 922-7 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s one of those spots that feels a bit tucked away from the main noise but it’s still right in the middle of everything. Fabrication is what happens here every day. You can see the flashes of light from the welding torches through the open door if you walk by. It’s a lot of heavy iron and steel being moved around. We have an old crane that we use for the bigger pieces but most of it is just manual labor. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks from where heavy stuff dropped over the years. We don’t have air conditioning, just some big fans that mostly just move the warm air around. The workers usually have their own spots on the floor where they like to set up their jigs. It’s a simple operation at Plot No. 922-7. We keep a stash of cold water in a clay pot in the corner because that stays colder than the fridge sometimes. The paperwork is mostly kept in a filing cabinet that won't stay closed properly. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just want to finish the parts and get them loaded onto the trucks. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living in the industrial estate. Most days we are too busy to notice much else going on outside.
