Ask Me Eng

If you are looking for us, we are right at Plot No. 234 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It is a big industrial area and sometimes people get lost looking for the right plot, but we have been here long enough that most the neighbors know where Ask Me Eng is located. We didn't pick the name for any fancy reason, it just sounded right at the time. The shop floor is where everything happens. We have got the lathes and the drills set up just how we like them. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it smells like cutting oil, which is exactly how a machine shop ought to be. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk up to the door and shout over the noise of the machines. One of us will come over and see what they need. Most of our days are spent looking at drawings or measuring parts. It takes a lot of patience to get things right. We have some older machines that still run better than the new ones if you treat them right. We don't go in for much talk. We just listen to what needs doing and then we get the tools out. The GIDC estate is a good place to be because there is always someone nearby who can supply materials or sharpen a blade. We keep the radio playing in the background most of the time to break up the silence between the loud jobs.
