We operate out of No. 988/9/2 in GIDC Makarpura. Being in the industrial estate means we are surrounded by all kinds of factories and workshops. Ck Zipper Pvt. Ltd. is all about, well, zippers. We make them in all different sizes and colors. The machines make a lot of noise, so it’s never really quiet around here during the day. We have reels of tape and piles of metal teeth everywhere you look. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t have a carpeted office or any paintings on the walls. It’s just concrete floors and sturdy workbenches. We spend our time making sure the sliders move smoothly and the teeth don't snag. If a batch isn't right, we have to start over, which is a pain but necessary. The traffic in GIDC can be heavy with all the trucks, so getting materials in and out takes some planning. We’ve got a small group of workers who have been with us for years. We know our way around a zipper better than most people ever would need to. It’s not the most glamorous job in the world, but every jacket and bag needs a good fastener. We just focus on keeping the machines running and meeting the orders that come in from the garment factories nearby. It’s a straightforward life in Makarpura, just honest work and a lot of metal and plastic bits flying around the shop floor every single day.
