Magicon Care is over at Vadodara A B/4. It’s basically a service point where people bring their electronics when they start acting up. We have a lot of benches set up with different tools and testing equipment. It’s not a retail shop where you come to browse. Most of the time, the front area has a few chairs for people to sit while they wait for us to check their devices. We see a lot of the same problems every day—things not turning on or buttons getting stuck. The light in here is very bright because we need to see the small circuits we are working on. We keep a lot of spare parts in labeled bins, but sometimes we have to wait for a delivery if it’s an unusual model. The area A B/4 is mostly commercial, so there are other offices around us. It gets quiet in the mid-morning and then picks up again during the lunch hour. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner for making tea during breaks. It’s just me and a couple of other guys doing the repairs. We try to be honest about how long things will take, even if it’s bad news. There’s no point in making promises we can’t keep. We just focus on the work on the bench and try to get through the pile of tickets we have for the day.
