Here at M.a. Telecom in Fatepura, we spend most of our time looking at small screens and wires. People bring in phones that they dropped or that won't charge anymore. We have a small workbench in the back where the repairs happen. Fatepura is a lively area, so there is always something happening outside the door. We sell chargers, headphones, and those little things people lose all the time. The shop isn't very big, so it gets crowded quickly if more than three people come in at once. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. Just some posters on the wall and the glass counters. Sometimes we can fix a phone in twenty minutes, other times it takes a few days if we need a part from somewhere else. We tell people honestly how long it will take. We also do mobile recharges and help people who are having trouble with their SIM cards. It’s steady work. We’ve been here long enough that people trust us with their devices. The fan in the corner makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the air moving. We close up when it gets dark and the street gets a bit quieter. It’s a simple life running a tech shop in this part of town. We keep a lot of tiny screws in old plastic containers so we don't lose them. Our hands usually have a bit of dirt or solder on them by midday. We take turns going out for tea from the stall around the corner.
