Our office is tucked away in a duplex over on the Tandalja Road in Baroda. It is officially called A/1 Chand Duplex. If you are coming from the main road, we are located right behind the Gautam Sarabhai Society. It is a quiet residential area mostly, so it does not feel like some typical corporate headquarters at all. We share the little lane with people living their normal lives, hanging their laundry on balconies and talking to neighbors. The building itself is just a standard duplex, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We have been at this spot for quite some time now, and the pin code 390020 is pretty familiar to everyone who works here. In Gujarat, the summers are incredibly tough, so we usually keep the blinds closed for most of the day to keep the sun out. It is a small team working here, so we all know each other’s business pretty well. We do not have a big lobby or a fancy receptionist sitting in a suit. You just walk in and someone will probably be sitting there at a desk with some papers. The backyard has a couple of trees that give a bit of shade, which is really nice in the late afternoons. It feels more like a house that just turned into a workspace over the years. We keep things pretty simple and do not bother with much of that corporate polish. It is just us doing our jobs in this little corner.
