Hotel Welcom

You can find us up in Village Tipri, which is part of the Tehri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand. It is a very quiet place, tucked away from the main roads where all the noise is. Living and working in the mountains means you have to get used to things being a bit slower. We have a few rooms here for travelers who are looking for a place to rest their heads. It is not like those big resorts you see in the city. Our place is simple. We keep the blankets thick because it gets quite cold at night, even in the summer months. The kitchen usually has some tea going and maybe some local food if someone is hungry. We see a lot of people passing through on their way to the shrines or just looking at the hills. Sometimes the weather gets bad and the roads get blocked, so guests end up staying longer than they planned. We don't mind. We just sit around and talk. The view from the porch is probably the best thing we have to offer, especially when the sun starts to set behind the ridges. We do all the cleaning and the cooking ourselves. It is a lot of work to keep a hotel running in a small village like this, but we are used to it. It’s just how life goes up here.
