Hotel Surya, Sayajigunj, Baroda.

The hotel itself is in Sayajigunj, but our administrative office where we do a lot of the back-end work is at Masoom Chambers, C-102. This is over in the Mogalwada area, specifically Kuresh Mohalla in Panigate, Baroda. It’s a bit of an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and it’s very crowded. We handle the bookings and the management stuff from this small office. It’s a lot different from the hotel side of things. Here, it’s just desks, phones, and stacks of ledgers. We spend the day calling suppliers for the hotel or checking the schedules for the staff. Panigate is a lively area with a lot of history and local shops. Sometimes it’s hard to find parking near Masoom Chambers, so we end up walking a bit. It’s a practical setup for us to keep the business running. We don't have any fancy decorations in this office; it’s strictly for getting the work done. The walls are a bit plain and we’ve got some old fans that make a lot of noise. We like being in this part of Baroda because it feels real and connected to the local life. Managing a hotel in Sayajigunj from Panigate keeps us moving back and forth between the two areas quite a lot during the week. It is just how we manage things around here.
