Hindustan Engineering

Our workshop is located at Makarpura Main Road 81/9 under the name Hindustan Engineering. It’s a noisy place because we are always cutting metal or using the heavy drills. The floor is concrete and has plenty of oil stains from the machines over the years. We wear old clothes because everything gets dirty pretty fast here. There is no air conditioning so we keep the big front doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. You can hear the trucks passing by all day long. We make different types of metal parts and components for other businesses in the area. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a decade or more. We don't use fancy computers for everything; sometimes a pencil and a piece of paper on the workbench is better. The tea man comes by twice a day and we always take a break then. My hands are usually stained with grease but that is part of the job. We have a few old lathes that still run better than the new ones if you treat them right. It is not a place for a suit and tie. We just focus on making things that fit right and last a long time. It is tough work but it is what we know how to do best here in Makarpura. The neighbors know us well and the days go by fast.
