Guru Nanak Public School

Guru Nanak Public School is located over on the Tarsali Danteshwar Ring Road in Vadodara. It’s a busy spot because of the traffic coming off the ring road. You can hear the trucks and cars pretty much all day. The school itself sits right there on Tarsali Road, and it’s been part of the neighborhood for a good while. Most of us who work here live close by, so we see the families walking their kids to the gate every morning. The building is a standard size, nothing too big or too small. We have the usual rooms for classes and a small area where kids run around during the breaks. It gets quite dusty in the summer months, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do. The desks are the old wooden kind that have been used by many kids over the years. You might see some names scratched into them if you look close enough. We don't have much of a fancy lobby or anything. It's just a hallway that leads to the offices and the classrooms. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building pretty hard. Parents wait outside near the gates around three o’clock. It gets a bit chaotic with all the rickshaws and scooters parked everywhere. We try to keep things orderly, but with so many people in one spot, it’s always a bit noisy until everyone heads home.
