Omkar Engineering

Our shop is at L-26/2 in the Por GIDC area. It’s a big industrial zone, and we are right near NH-8, which is the main highway. You can always hear the heavy trucks thundering by on the highway from our front door. Omkar Engineering is a place where we do a lot of metal fabrication and general repairs. It’s an industrial shed, nothing fancy at all. We have our machines lined up and we spend most of our day right there in the thick of it. The air is usually filled with the sound of grinding metal and cutting torches. Being in Por GIDC means we are surrounded by all sorts of other factories, so there's always a lot of activity and people moving goods. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. It’s convenient because we are so close to NH-8, but it also means the yard gets very dusty with all the traffic. We don’t really do any marketing; people find us because we are here and we’ve been around for years. The floors are concrete and usually covered in metal bits and oil. We wear our old work clothes and just get on with the day's tasks. It’s not a clean job, but it’s what we do. Sometimes we have to work late to get a job finished for a customer. We just keep things simple and focus on the work. Metal and grease are just part of the day.
