Fone Wala

Fone Wala is out on the Gorwa Mumbai Pune Road 10. Being on such a big road means we see a lot of travelers passing through. It is a noisy spot with trucks and cars zooming by at all hours. We have a lot of different phones and accessories crammed into our shelves. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of space to put things. We spend a lot of time talking to people about which phone might be better for them or showing them how a new gadget works. It’s a busy life, and we don’t get much sitting-down time. The shop has big glass windows, so it gets very bright during the day. We have to wipe the dust off the counters every morning because of the road traffic. It’s just one of those things you have to do. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place where you can get your phone sorted out. We keep a stash of cables behind the counter because everyone seems to need one these days. Most of our day is spent answering the same kinds of questions, but we don't mind. It’s good to be part of the community here. The shop stays open late most nights because that's when the road is busiest with people heading home. We just keep working until it’s time to pull the shutters down and go home ourselves.
