Working at Extreme Sound System at Makarpura 323/A6 means living with a lot of noise and wires. The shop is filled with speakers of all sizes, and there is almost always some tangled cable on the floor that someone needs to wrap up. We spend a lot of our time testing out amplifiers or checking if a tweeter is blown after a big event. The building at 323/A6 isn't very large, so we have to stack the subwoofers quite high to make room for people to walk through. Most days involve lifting heavy boxes and loading them onto the back of a truck for a party or a small gathering nearby. My hands are usually a bit dirty from fixing plugs or carrying metal stands. We have a small workbench in the back where the soldering iron is always plugged in. It gets quite hot in Makarpura during the summer months, and the small window doesn't let in much air. People come in asking for all sorts of connectors we sometimes have to dig through bins to find. It is not a quiet job, as you can imagine. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we test the bass too loud in the afternoon. We try to keep things organized, but when three different rentals come back at the same time, the whole place turns into a mess of black carpet and silver knobs. It’s just how we work here every day.
