We set up Express Engineering Constructions Private Limited inside the Express Hotel Building on R.C. Dutt Road a while back. Being in Alkapuri is convenient because it’s a central part of town, though finding a parking spot can be a real headache some afternoons. Our office is mostly filled with blueprints, rolls of site plans, and a few old computers that hum loudly. It’s not a corporate setup with fancy furniture; we mostly use plain tables and chairs that are sturdy enough for the job. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to site supervisors or checking on material deliveries. When people come by to see us at the Express Hotel Building, they usually find us huddled over a drawing or arguing about a specific measurement. R.C. Dutt Road is always full of energy, and we can see the traffic moving from our windows. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but it’s a good spot for us. We don’t have a flashy mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just focus on the projects we have in front of us and try to make sure the buildings go up the way they are supposed to. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, eating snacks at our desks while we work through the details. It’s just the way construction life goes for a small team like ours.
