We operate out of Plot No. 112 in the Alindra Manjusar-Savli G I D C area. It is a bit of a long drive out here from the main city, but this is where all the heavy industrial work happens. We deal with transformers, which means there is a lot of heavy lifting and metalwork involved in every single shift. The floor of the unit is usually covered in some kind of material or tool we are using at the moment. It gets quite hot in the summer months under the big metal roof, but we have a couple of large industrial fans that help a little bit. We spend a lot of time checking the copper coils and making sure the outer casings are fitted correctly. It is a technical job, but we talk about the work in very simple terms among ourselves. The crew here has been working together for a long time, so we all know who is good at what specific task. We do not have a fancy front office for visitors; most of our floor space is taken up by the equipment and the large units we are currently working on. You will often see a couple of us out front during the afternoon tea break just taking a breather in the shade. The G I D C here is always busy, with lorries moving in and out of Alindra all day long. We just focus on our own plot and try to get through the daily list of tasks.
