We’ve been at Plot No. D-30 in the GIDC Ind. Estate for a good while now. Every morning starts about the same, turning on the lights and checking what came in the day before. It’s usually a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is around here. We deal with electrical parts and repairs mostly. People from around the estate drop by when something stops working or they need a specific switch. Our shop isn't fancy. There’s a lot of wire reels stacked in the corner and a desk that’s seen better days. Usually, the radio is playing some old songs in the background while we work. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fan stays on high. We know most of the neighbors by now. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall at the corner and talk about how the business is going. It's not always easy keeping track of all the inventory, especially the small fuses and connectors that seem to disappear. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the shelf gets messy when things get busy. If you walk past the main gate, you’ll see our sign. It’s been there since we opened. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just fixing things and selling what folks need to keep their own places running. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every single week of the year.
