Edenwalas is located in the Lalit Building, right across from the Bank of India here in Raopura. It’s a busy part of the city, and the street outside is almost always full of scooters and people walking by. Our shop has been in this same spot for quite a few years now. Inside, it’s a bit of a mix of everything. We sell household items, gifts, and some kitchen things. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so I usually have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff on the top rows. It’s a family-run place, started by my father, and I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that keep the air moving. It can get quite warm in the afternoons, especially during the summer months. People often stop in after they finish their business at the bank across the street. We know a lot of our customers by name since they’ve been coming to us for a long time. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We don’t do any fancy marketing or have a website. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. Sometimes the lights flicker when the weather is bad, but we just keep going. It’s a plain, honest shop for the local community.
