Design World

Design World is at 179 Krishana Nagar, right by the Abhilasha Cross Road on Sama Road. This part of Vadodara has a lot of houses, but it’s slowly getting more commercial. Our office is basically a ground-floor space that we’ve made our own. It’s not very big, so we have to be careful about where we put things. There are desks lining the walls and a lot of cables running across the floor. We’ve been here in Krishana Nagar for a long time, so we know most of the people who live and work nearby. The traffic at the cross road can be a bit of a nightmare during the evening rush hour, so we usually try to stay inside until it dies down. We have a small kitchen area where we keep our snacks and lunch boxes. The atmosphere in the office is pretty casual. We talk to each other a lot while we work, mostly about the jobs we are handling. It’s not a quiet library type of place; there’s always some chatter or the sound of someone typing away. We don’t have a formal reception area, so when someone walks in, they are right there in the middle of the workspace. Most people don’t seem to mind that, though. We’ve got some old posters on the wall that have been there since we moved in. It’s a simple, local business where we just focus on getting the work done day by day. It’s a place that feels lived in and busy.
