Centre Square Mall

Centre Square Mall has its roots right here at 19 Vidhyakunj Society. It is a bit unusual to have an office for a mall in a residential society, but it works for us. We are near the Bhatuji Temple in Manjalpur, so we often hear the temple bells or the sounds of people gathered for prayers. Baroda is a busy city, and Manjalpur is a big part of that. Our office space is pretty crammed with papers and folders. It is where we do the behind-the-scenes stuff that nobody sees when they are out shopping. We spend a lot of time talking about maintenance and who is supposed to be where. It is not all glamour. Most of it is just making sure the lights stay on and the floors stay clean. The staff here are mostly local folks who have been around Baroda for years. We don't have any big corporate handbooks. We just talk to each other and figure out the day’s problems over a cup of tea. Sometimes it gets a little loud when everyone is talking at once, but that is just how we are. Being tucked away in Vidhyakunj Society keeps us away from the main noise of the mall itself, which is nice when you actually need to concentrate on the numbers or the schedules. We try to keep things organized despite the constant phone calls.
