Cashier

Our location is in Patel Nager Society, out in the Chhani area of Baroda. It is a quiet place compared to the middle of the city. We are at number 68. Chhani used to feel like it was far away, but now the city has grown so much it’s just another part of the town. The post office is close by, which makes it easy for us to send and receive things. We don't have a shop or a store you can walk into. It is more of a home-based setup where we handle the money and accounts. That is why everyone calls us the cashier. We’ve been here for many years and know all the families in the society. There are many trees in the garden, and it gets very peaceful in the evenings. We start our work early in the morning when it is still cool. The desk is always full of ledgers and receipts. We don't have a computer for everything; we still like to write things down in books. The neighborhood is safe and simple. You won't find any flashy signs here. We just have a small nameplate. It is a long commute for some, but for us, it is just a short walk. We manage the daily tasks without much fuss. It is an honest way to spend the day in a part of Baroda we love being in.
