Bashar Mobile & Xerox

Bashar Mobile & Xerox is a small shop in Fatepura. It’s not much to look at from the outside, just a regular storefront. Inside, we have the copier on one side and the phone repair stuff on the other. The copier is pretty old and it jams more than I’d like. I spend a lot of time pulling stuck paper out of the rollers. People come in to get their ID cards copied or to print out forms for the government. Then someone else will walk in with a phone that won't turn on after they dropped it. It’s a mix of different tasks all day long. Fatepura is a tight neighborhood. Everyone knows everyone else's business. I hear a lot of gossip while I’m waiting for the machine to finish a big job. The shop is small so it gets crowded with just three people inside. I keep my tools in an old cigar box on the counter. It works fine for what I need to do. Sometimes the electricity fluctuates and the copier resets itself in the middle of a page. That is frustrating when you are halfway through a long document. I usually just offer the customer a seat while they wait. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It is a simple place. We do what we can to help the folks around here with their errands. It’s been my life for several years now. Just paper, ink, and phone parts.
