You’ll find Apothecon Pharmaceuticals out on the Padra-Jambusar Highway. Our facility covers a few plots, 1134 to 1138, near Dabhasa in Padra Taluk. It’s a fairly large site because we do a lot of our own manufacturing here. Working in pharma means we have to be very careful with how we handle everything every single day. Most of our staff comes in from the surrounding villages or from Padra town. The highway is always busy with tankers and trucks, which makes the morning commute a bit of an adventure. Inside the gates, though, it’s all about the production lines and the lab work. We don’t really do any corporate stuff; we are more focused on the actual science and the making of the medicine. There are a lot of rules we have to follow, so we spend a lot of time filling out logs and checking monitors. It’s a serious job, but we have a good group of people who have worked together for a long time. We eat our lunch in the canteen and talk about our families or what’s happening in the village. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. The money goes into the equipment and making sure the facility stays running properly. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one day at a time. The sun sets right over the fields behind the plant, which is probably the best part of the day.
