Anukruti Creations

Anukruti Creations is up in unit 601 of the Radhe-B building, right there in Pasha Bhai Park near the Race Course. Being on the sixth floor gives us a bit of a view, though we are usually too busy looking at fabric samples or sketches to notice it. The room is often full of loose threads and scraps of cloth that seem to get everywhere, no matter how much we tidy up. We have a couple of sewing machines that hum away most of the afternoon and a big table for cutting. It’s mostly design work and figuring out how a piece of clothing should actually hang. Sometimes we argue about a hemline or a color for an hour before we finally just try it out. It is not a big corporate fashion house, just a small space where we try to make things that look decent. The sunlight comes in really strong in the mornings, so we have to pull the blinds so we can see the colors properly. We drink a lot of water because it gets stuffy with all the fabric dust in the air. People sometimes drop by to look at what we are working on, but usually, it is just us and the radio playing in the background. We don't have a fancy showroom, just our workspace where the real work happens every day.
