Anand Chemist & General Store

Anand Chemist & General Store is located at Shop No. 1/2 in the Satkar Complex on Iscon Road, which is part of Gotri Road in Vadodara. We are situated right opposite the Pratham Complex. Our shop is a bit different because we handle both medicines and general grocery items. This means the shelves are a mix of cough syrups and bandages on one side, and biscuits and detergents on the other. It is a busy location because Gotri Road is a main path for many people in Vadodara. We have glass cabinets for the medicines and open shelves for the general goods. The shop has a cool, clinical smell from the medicines mixed with the smell of packaged food. There is usually a bit of a queue during the evening hours when people are returning from work. We have to be very careful with the prescriptions, so we take our time to make sure everything is right. The complex itself is quite lively and there is always something going on in the neighboring shops. We use a couple of fans to keep the air moving because the afternoon heat can be quite strong. It is a lot of work keeping track of all the different expiry dates for the medicines and the food, but we stay on top of it. It is just a useful shop for the local community.
