Kalanidhi Art Gallery

Kalanidhi Art Gallery is located right in the Spandan Complex over in Alkapuri. It is a quiet spot tucked away near 2-Amrakunj Society, just across from the Spring Valley Bungalows. We have a lot of different frames on the walls and paintings hanging everywhere. People come in from Urmi Road just to look around for a bit. Sometimes the floor is a little dusty from the street outside, but we try to keep it clean. We spend our mornings mostly cleaning the glass on the artworks and moving things around. There is no fancy lounge or anything, just a few old chairs for visitors to sit on. We have been here in this part of town for a good while now. The light comes in through the front window in the afternoon and it really changes how the oil paintings look. We talk to the local artists who drop off their new work. Some are just starting out and some have been painting for decades. We don't have a big corporate team at all, just a couple of us keeping the place running. The neighbors often walk their dogs past the front door in the evening. We keep the extra inventory in the back room which is always a bit crowded and messy. It takes a lot of work to hang everything straight. We use a simple ladder and some basic hand tools to get it done. It’s just how we do things here.
