From Art Gallery

Down on Tilak Road, you will find From Art Gallery. It is not a very loud place compared to the rest of the street. We have frames on the walls and some pieces leaning against the floor because we run out of hanging space. The light comes in from the front window, but we also have some lamps inside to show the colors better. It is mostly just me here. I spend a lot of time dusting the frames and moving things around to see what looks good. Some people just walk in to look around while they are waiting for a bus or a ride. We have a desk in the corner with some papers and a few pens. It isn't a huge gallery, but it is enough for what we have. Tilak Road is always busy, so you can hear the cars and horns all day long, even if it feels quiet inside. We have some bubble wrap and cardboard in the back for when someone wants to take something home. Sometimes I sit on the stool and just look at the paintings myself. It is a slow kind of business. You don't get a rush of people all at once like a grocery store. It is more about one or two people coming in and staying for a while. I try to keep the glass clean so people can see the details clearly. It is a nice way to spend the day.
