Out here at 443, Gidc Makarpura, things stay pretty busy with the industrial crowd. Aakar Scientific Instruments Pvt. Ltd. has its space right in the middle of all the workshops and factories. It’s a dusty part of town sometimes, but that’s what happens in an industrial estate. We spend our days dealing with various tools and scientific bits that laboratories need. The office is functional, nothing too fancy to look at. We have benches piled with instruments and papers scattered around. It’s a practical environment for people who actually use their hands. We don’t have a marketing department writing slogans for us. We just talk to the engineers and technicians who come through the door. Most of them have been coming here for years because they know the area. The heat in Makarpura can be a lot during the summer, but we keep the fans going and get on with the job. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a glossy lobby. It’s more about the metal and the glass and the technical specs. We make sure the orders get packed up and sent out to the right labs. Sometimes there’s a delay with a supplier, and we just have to tell the customer how it is. No point in making up stories. We’ve been part of this Gidc layout for a long time, and we’re used to the rhythm of the trucks and the machinery nearby.
