Jhanjhakhedi Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started Jhanjhakhedi Farmer Producer Company Limited a little while back here in Khachraud. It is mostly just a group of us who farm around the Ujjain area trying to figure things out together. You can find us over at Vikram Singh Thakur’s place in Indrapuri Colony. It is not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a spot where we meet up to talk about the crops and what needs doing for the season. Farming in Madhya Pradesh has its ups and downs with the weather and the markets, so having this company helps us stay organized. We mostly handle things ourselves. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much but we manage. People know where we are if they need to drop by. It is a local thing, really. We grew up here and we know the land. There are a lot of challenges when you are trying to get fair prices for what you grow. We spend a lot of time just talking to other farmers and seeing how everyone is doing. The colony is quiet and it works for us. We don't have a big staff, just a few people keeping the records straight and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. It is practical work. Nothing too complicated, just trying to keep the farm business moving along. We stay busy with the planting and harvesting cycles. That is pretty much our life here. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we are just working.
