Maa Narmada Farmers Producer Company is located at the Kp Cold Storage on Sherpur Road. It’s in Manpur, right by the first road there. Being at a cold storage facility makes sense for us because that’s where the produce ends up anyway. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming in and out at all hours. We have a small office space inside the facility. It smells like the earth and cold air. We are a group of farmers who named ourselves after the river because she gives us everything. In Manpur, everyone knows Sherpur Road. We spend our time checking the quality of what comes in and making sure the storage is working right. It’s a lot of responsibility. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk past the crates to find us. We talk to the drivers and the local growers all day long. Sometimes we have tea and just wait for the next load to arrive. It’s a practical place for a producer company. We handle the distribution and the storage so the crops don't go to waste. It’s hard work and the hours are long during the peak season. We just do what we have to do. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for our community here in MP. We stay grounded in our daily tasks.
