Swastik Bag & Luggage

Our shop is at 198, Bapu Bazar. It’s right in the middle of all the action. We have a lot of bags and bigger luggage pieces too. Since we are in Bapu Bazar, it’s always crowded and noisy, but that’s part of the fun of being here. We’ve been in this location for many years. The floor is old tile and it’s a bit cracked in places, but it’s sturdy. We spend a lot of time moving suitcases around to make room for people to walk. It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just put our items out and people come in. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when the shop is quiet. We know most of the other shop owners on this stretch. We talk about the weather or how business is going. It’s a decent way to spend the day. We have bags for students and people going on trips. We try to keep the prices where they should be. The ceiling fan hums all day long to keep the air moving. When it gets dark, we turn on the overhead lights and keep going for a few more hours. It’s just us doing our work at 198. Nothing special, just a local place selling what people need. We keep the shutters open late.
