We are over at Shop No 7 in the Krishi Mandi. If you know the market, you know it gets pretty hectic, especially in the mornings when the trucks start rolling in. We’ve been at this shop for quite some time now. Dealing in the mandi means you have to be ready for anything. We handle various agricultural goods and trade with whoever comes through the gates. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with ledger books and some samples of what we’re moving that week. There isn't much room for a lot of people, but we make it work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. We don’t do any fancy advertising. Most people know us just by word of mouth or because they’ve been coming to the mandi for years. It’s a loud place with lots of shouting and haggling, but that’s the nature of the business. We try to keep our head down and get the trades done right. Some days are long, starting before dawn, but that's just part of the routine. We don't have a big corporate strategy. We just look at the prices, talk to the suppliers, and try to make a fair deal for everyone involved. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us connected to the local farmers and the heartbeat of the local agricultural trade.
