Our place is right inside the Savina Krishi Upaj Mandi Yard, at shop number 20. If you have ever been to the Mandi, you know how loud and busy it is. We are right in the middle of it. We work with farmers and produce, mostly dealing with what comes in from the fields. It’s a very different kind of job. We start very early, often before the sun is even up, because that’s when the trucks start arriving. There is a lot of dust and the smell of fresh vegetables and grains everywhere. We spend our time talking to producers and making sure everything is handled properly. It’s not like a regular office job where you sit in AC. We are on our feet, moving between the yard and our desk. The company is run by people who understand farming. We don't use a lot of big words or complicated processes. We just try to get the produce from the farm to the market in a way that works for everyone. Sometimes the prices go up and down and everyone is shouting in the yard, but we just stay focused on our work. We have a small staff who knows the regulars. We drink tea from the local vendor and keep the registers updated. It’s a busy life, and there’s always something moving or being weighed. We’ve been at Savina for a while now.
