We are located in the Doodh Talai Government Handicraft Shopping Complex, specifically units 24 through 27. Being in a government complex means things are quite structured on the outside, but our actual shop space is a bit more lived-in. We have been here for a while, and the walls are covered with different items we've collected over the seasons. The area around Doodh Talai is usually busy with tourists and locals going to the lake, so there’s always noise coming in from the hallways. We spend a lot of time organizing the displays because things tend to get moved around a lot by people looking through them. It’s not a very big space if you look at it unit by unit, but having four of them together gives us some room to breathe. We don't have fancy lights or a big showroom feel. It’s more like a warehouse where people can come and look at what’s available. Most of the time, we’re just sitting on the stools near the counter, waiting for the next delivery or checking the stock. The air conditioning works when it wants to, so we keep the doors open mostly to let air in. We handle all sorts of handicraft work, and the smell of worked metal and paint is always around. It's a practical place to work, nothing too flashy. We just try to keep things in order and help whoever walks in the door.
